shiftVR has filmed and created a 360˚/360 Virtual Reality experience that brings Ripley’s “Dangerous Lagoon” underwater shark aquarium to life. This is one of the first marketing applications for 360˚ video and VR that is consumable on mass scale.
The video launched on Sunday July 5th (the start of Discovery’s Shark Week) and is viewable on YouTube with its new 360˚ “click & drag” functionality, allowing viewers to see 360˚ by 360˚ with spectacular detail from any computer or smartphone.
Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada has an important mission of “providing a world class experience” through its beautiful and awe-inspiring aquatic world. The experience immerses customers in a world of 16,000 aquatic animals and provides an underwater adventure like no other.
Ripley’s Marketing and Communications Associate Lauren Chan: “As Toronto’s newest attraction in over 20 years, we really wanted to give our guests a visually impactful sneak peek into their underwater experience. With 360˚ video and Virtual Reality, they are given the opportunity to step into another world and transcend the limitations of physical reality.”
